Week one check-in

Today's weight: 188.4
Exercise this week: two hours on treadmill -- 1/21/2009 and 1/22/2009
Total miles walked: 6
Daily water consumption:
  • Gym days: 88 ounces
  • Non-gym days: 66 ounces
Attitude status: disappointed

I'm losing inches -- my clothes fit much more loosely than they did even last week, but I haven't lost a lot of weight since I started this blog. I desperately need to shop for clothing that fits me, but I have purchased my mother of the bride dress for Kristen's wedding and my ball dress for the Raleigh Alumnae chapter of DST's Charity Ball. I am confident that, though they are both size 14, they will need to be taken in before April 11!

So, here is what I'm going to do. I'm rearranging my doctor days so that instead of going on Tuesdays at 7 AM, I'll go in Monday afternoons after work. My Friday appointment needs to remain intact because I started the program on a Friday. That way, I'll go to the gym four days per week instead of three. I'm going to have to leave the house earlier in order to get my 30 minutes of strength training in, but on those days when I can only spend an hour at the gym, I'm committed to doing strength training at home in the evenings.

I'm committed also to increasing my water intake on non-gym days, including weekends. I tend not to drink enough water on the weekends, and that is not acceptable.

Finally, I am committed to entering my caloric intake more faithfully at
http://www.my-calorie-counter.com/.

I'm also continuing to monitor my portion control.

It would be nice to have you share your weight loss triumphs, trials, and tribulations with me as I continue this journey. Many of you have written me unofficially to tell me the blog was inspiring, but I'd love for you to be interactive with me! Hint-hint. LOL!
